At least 25 dead as heavy rains, severe flooding hit China’s Henan province

At least 25 people have died after heavy rains over the past several days brought about a year's worth of precipitation and severe flooding to China's central Henan province, with the capital of Zhengzhou among the cities under water. More than 100,000 people have been evacuated from the capital, where roads and rail transport have been disrupted and both dams and reservoirs swollen to warning levels. At least 12 people of those killed fell victim to the waters while in a subway line drenched by what weather officials called the heaviest rains for 1,000 years. As Sean Previl reports, rescue efforts are underway, with the People's Liberation Army having deployed thousands of troops and personnel to help even as people try to take shelter in cinemas and even museums.
